The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has announced that Corps Members will receive an increased monthly allowance of “Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira” starting from “March 2025.”
Speaking during an interactive session with Corps Members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja on Thursday, Brigadier General Nafiu reassured them that the payment would be implemented as planned.
He emphasized the NYSC’s commitment to the welfare of Corps Members, stating that their well-being remains a top priority for both the Scheme and the Federal Government.
“With effect from March, you are going to receive the sum of Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance. NYSC is good at record keeping, and I can assure you that your money will be paid. The Nation and the Scheme appreciate you,” he stated.
The NYSC DG commended the vision of the Scheme’s founding fathers, highlighting its role in fostering national unity, promoting cultural exchange, and equipping young graduates with “leadership skills, teamwork, and discipline.” He encouraged Corps Members to remain “calm, dedicated, and focused” on their service year.
During the event, a Corps Member, “Zaka Deborah Alheri,” with call number “FC/24A/5831,” spoke on behalf of her colleagues at the Garki Zone, expressing gratitude to the Director General for his efforts in ensuring that the allowance increase would be realized.
