A young Nigerian man has sparked controversy after tearing his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate in frustration over the country’s worsening economic conditions and lack of job opportunities.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the man, whose identity remains undisclosed, lamented the struggles faced by graduates in Nigeria, stating that despite spending years in school, securing employment has become nearly impossible.
The act was part of the 30-Day-Rant Challenge, where individuals express their grievances about societal issues.
“During the time of our parents, they could go to school and afford a basic life, but now it is not even possible,” he said while ripping his NYSC certificate. “Are we talking about the price of gas, electricity? Everything is skyrocketing.”
