The Students’ Union Government (SUG) President of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Muizz Olarewaju Olatunji, has announced that a resolution has been reached on the NELFUND disbursement issue following a meeting with the Vice Chancellor.
In an unofficial statement released on Monday evening, Olatunji assured students that final-year students who had already paid their school fees before the NELFUND disbursement would receive refunds.
He also stated that lower-level students who are not in their final year would have their disbursement applied to their next session’s school fees.
“Following a meeting with the Vice Chancellor earlier today, I am pleased to announce that a resolution has been reached regarding the NELFUND issue,” the SUG president said.
“Final-year students who paid their school fees before the NELFUND disbursement will receive a refund. Additionally, the disbursement amount will be applied to next session’s school fees for lower-level students that are not in their final year.”
Olatunji further noted that details on the reimbursement process would be communicated in due course.
“The modalities for reimbursement will be communicated shortly through this platform,” he added.
Recall, that the NELFUND disbursement had sparked concerns among students, particularly those who had already made fee payments before the fund was released.
