Civil Engineering Defeats Electrical 2-1 to Win OOU 2024/2025 Provost Cup

The Civil Engineering department of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ibogun campus, has won the 2024/2025 Provost Cup football competition after defeating Electrical/Electronics Engineering 2-1 in the final.

The tournament, organized by the College of Engineering and Environmental Studies under the Adedamola-led administration, featured eight departments competing from March 13 to March 26.

The OOU Students’ Union Government (OOUSUG) Vice President 4, Comr. Alani Ayotunde a student of Civil Engineering, took the ceremonial kickoff before the final match commenced.

Civil Engineering played three group-stage matches, finishing second in their group to advance to the semifinals. They secured a place in the final after defeating Mechanical Engineering in a penalty shootout. In the final, they overcame Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a 2-1 victory.

This competition was overseen by the college’s Sports Director, Comrade Nivani, while Coach Sensor led the Civil Engineering team.

Awards Presentation To Students

The Best Goal Keeper certificate was presented to Yusuf, the Civil Engineering goal keeper.

The best Coach certificate was given to Adejobi Sultan, the Civil Engineering head coach

Certificate of Highest Goal Scorer of the tournament was given to a player from Mechanical Engineering department. His name is unknown at the time of filing this report.

The certificate of fair play team of the tournament was given to Urban and Regional Planning department.

The President of Civil Engineering, Comr. Fajemilehin Adedamola and the OOUSUG Vice President 4, Comr. Alani Ayotunde.

The organizers of the tournament, Comr. James from the faculty of Environmental and Comr. Skilashi from the Faculty of Engineering presented the Trophy to all the players and fans before the match began
